Do all small babies love trees?

The littlest member of the house of scum seems to love trees. Every time her pram trundles under one she grins and opens her eyes wide and wiggles her whole body in delight. They charm her even if she is getting a bit mardy and distressed, to the extent that I feel slightly nervous when we approach a stretch of road which is arboreally challenged. Is this a common phenomenon or is she gifted and talented in tree appreciation? [tongue in cheek- I just wanted to tell everyone that my baby loves trees, tbh]

lol
my dcs always enjoyed being pushed under trees as little ones, esp if the wind was blowing. ds2 was very fond of the bamboos at Chatsworth and it was a ritual for him to go and run past them, waving his arms to make them "tinkle" !

yes, my dd was the same. Had a phase of getting very excited every time we got her out of the car if there was a tree anywhere

she's moved on to flowers now, as she can say the word, so likes to point out every single flower she sees. Bless em!

Mine does too! She's 1 now, and points and exclaims every time we see a good tree. She does the same for scaffolding, too...

Aaaw! My little one calmed down in the woods last week.

It wasn't my manic rocking of pushchair, it was the huge oak we were under.

Wish the dry leaves had lasted a bit longer. Ds1 had great fun kicking them around and throwing them in air all over himself.

Really want ds2 to wiggle his whole body in delight.....! No coordination yet.

@ scaffolding being a good tree substitute, Aranea.

Definately gifted and talented - I present conclusive evidence: DS LOVED looking at trees in his pram. He is now almost 5 and spends as much time as possible in trees.

DD on the other hand was more charmed by pictures and she now loves drawing/art/craft much more than DS did at her age.

This is the end of my extremely scientific research. I hope it helps. Your DD and my DS will probably meet in the future at a Tree Professors Convention.

my dd was the same. At 4 months old, my mil was trying to wheel her round the streets to get her off to sleep. DD had been awake for HOURS. Mil said, nope no use she was just too into the trees!

she is 7 now and def g+T!!!

oh yes

dd always howled and howled as I pushed her round the otherwise very pleasant wide, spacious, boulevards of one particular local estate and then shut up totally as we squeezed our way down the titchy narrow overgrown footpaths into town.

took me days to work out why
