And I'd just like to say this topic is another reason I LOVE MN. On 'another' baby site a few of us suggested a 'sports' board and were basically laughed at and told to take a hike......."It wouldn't be used often" "no-one wants to talk about sport" etc etc.

True this topic isn't used as frequently as the others but it's good to HAVE to it use

Pity the Lions couldn't do the same with the NZ Maoris at the weekend ... poor DH is getting it from all sides at work
Does not bode well for the Lions/All Blacks tests as most of the NZ Maoris are in the All Blacks anyway.
DH was chuffed about the cricket though ... I was too, secretly but I pretend to have absolutely no interest in cricket whatsoever

God, it was great. Have you all seen that advert with Shane Warne being "transported" by Gower, Nasser, Beef and wossisname, saying "I'll be back", brilliant........ Have we peaked though?

Don't think we've peaked, although twenty20 isn't played much in Australia. Will be a very different team out for the tests though so hope that the winning ways are catching.
With the football season over bar the transfer rumours I have to get into cricket for my sporting fix although having the Lions is a bonus as well.

It's played a lot more here Davros than in Australia - there was a 20/20 cup competition for the counties last season.

Australia really aren't having a good week - you can bet the press there are focussing on the US open golf today rather than the cricket!

Bloss - are they taking it as just a bad week and it will all be OK in the tests, or as a sign of an aging team that has past their peak?
