I took it out of my handbag as I didn't need it, to save weight on a Ryanair (boo) weekend away.

Haven't seen it since. Looked in all sensible and stupid places.

Cannot bear to think our cleaner took it. She's lovely and the best we've ever had.

Thought my Mum could have accidentally thrown it in the rubbish or recycling but I've been all through both (yuk) and it's not there.

No-one else has been in house. If a burglar, strange one who left a mobile, a handbag and three laptops untouched.

Please share your stories of lost tom-toms turning up in unlikely places.

Have offered dd reward for finding - offer actually open to whole of Mumsnet

Check the cat tray, you can never fully trust a cat... take my word..

Well I can tell you where mine was when I enlisted the help of the wise MNetters last year...

It was in the bottom of a carrier bag, with some old bits of paper and probably a Galaxy wrapper....

... in our local rubbish tip. Needless to say I never saw it again

Have you looked under your duvet? That's where my DS had put mine angry Little sod knew too - after I'd turned the house (and rubbish) and car upside down, when we went to bed, he reached under and pulled it out. Look! Grrrrrr

These are brilliant suggestions, keep them coming.

Hadn't thought of meter/ cheese/fridge/ behind telly. Off to check.

Had thought of cat tray. Believe me, I know not to trust the cat!

Is it hiding with my Garmin, haven't seen that for weeks. I am very prone to filling carrier bags and dumping tidying them away in the tardis cupboard under the stairs.

whoisasking Wed 14-Oct-09 15:33:06

Behind the gin.

(This is the answer to most of lifes questions I think)

eemie Wed 14-Oct-09 15:35:04

In my pants?

Just what kind of pants do your children think I have, I'm wondering?

But good point about all the others. Have already looked in most of them smile

TheDevilEatsBabies Wed 14-Oct-09 15:36:32

in the glove box of your car?
or the boot?

in the hall cupboard?

i once found a remote control in a pile of newspapers that i was sorting for recycling.
try there.

CuppaTeaJanice Wed 14-Oct-09 15:48:48

Have you located all the other stuff you took out of your handbag at the same time?

I'm guessing it's wherever you normally keep your passport.

jasper Wed 14-Oct-09 15:54:05

eemie you must excuse my rude 7 year old. He meant in your pants in the pants drawer

flamingtoaster Wed 14-Oct-09 16:04:17

Under the bed.

With the remote controls.

Behind anything that is in the Hall.

Good luck!
