What was the strangest piece of correspondence you received today?

Mine was a letter from the Workers' Compensation Board, copied to me as the health care provider, regarding a patient I don't actually have, who had apparently cut his finger at home .

At first I thought they were surely taking the piss, but WCB is a particularly humourless organization, which scotched that idea. I rang them to ask, and yes, it was a real file... but no, it wasn't my name listed as health care provider (so why did I get a copy??) and when I asked how someone could hope to file a work-injury-related claim when he'd cut his finger at home, the person I was speaking with sighed and said, "oh hon, if you only knew the claims we get!!" which made me laugh and then she was laughing so that was good .

Ooh people are weirdy.

No odd post, but I did get a call from my letting agent (we rent) telling me that they sent a letter on the 24th August about renewing our tenancy, hadn't heard from us and they needed to know NOW.

a) I replied about 2 days after the letter via email like they said in the letter I could.

b) I increased the rent as per the new tenancy which they would have received on 9th September.

c) The actual old tenancy expired on 9th September, so why has it taken them nearly a month to bother chasing it up!??!?!

She said she'd go check the emails....

A call here too. We moved into our house over 2 years ago after the elderly couple who were here before. She had died so he moved.

Anyway call goes:

Hello is Mrs g there please?

me- No I'm afraid she doesn't live here anymore.

Oh well she asked for some bedroom furniture quotes a few years ago, we were just wondering if she wanted it?

me- well we had the whole house re done and Mrs G doesn't live here. And in fact she died.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that. Do you think she would like the new furniture catalogue?

me- I doubt it don't you seeing as she's dead??

Oh Ok thanks bye.
