Some of you will have read my threads on my neighbours but we are pushing to get moved, having the housing manager coming out tomorrow and I want to get out of here. My SIL is in Bolton and I have expressed an inerested in 2 houses up there. Homeless won't help because the police can't give me a letter, council want to me to start the eviction process (ie complain and get them to sort it out or face eviction) but I can't do that as I know it will make things worse. Now I need some help to get us moved, I have 2 disabled kids and they can't live like this, and I have to go out a lot for appointments etc and its so scary going out. Please help me.

The housing officer in Bolton has agreed that the two houss I have expressed an interest in would be perfect for us, but she can't override the system otherwise she would. Have to get info for SS to them by tuesday to see if they will give us one. SW is coming today so will ask her to fax the info to them. SIL has spoken to the disability team and they said that the house would be prefect too.

Right ok sounds like thats the main thing to concentrate on at the mo then as a desicion could be made in the next few days then right ???

Make sure the sw lets you know when the info has been faxed and then ring ahead and tell the other people that it's been sent and you want to know when you can expect a desicion by.

right, the disability team said that they have a seperate list for disabled people, about 100 people on them, mostly single people, and hardly any family, they said that those people are assessed for hosuing before everyone and will be offered if they 'match' the house IYKWIM

It all sounds promising... just make sure your SW can deliver the rquired goods.

Which you do more than a single disabled person too, so there should be no question.

You are gonna have to be really tough with them. You know you should be given it, and they know it. Make a bloody pain of yourself they need to know you won't back down as soon as they say 'oh well the thing is'.

just had SW on the phone she read the letter that she is writing to the local council, its excellent, and I think that it will help us move in this area.

fio2. Bolton is our last resort, its an option that we will use if needed. We are hoping the local council will help us and we wouldn't have to use the bolton connection.

Sparkly, don't know if this helps, but when we needed to get my Dad moved out of his council flat fast, I wrote to The Leader of The Council, basically going over the heads of various department directors etc. I had a reply within a week and Dad was moved within 3 weeks.

I went above the housing offcer because I felt he wasn't taking it seriously, shame cause he is normally really good. Hosuing manager was shocked by it TBH.

that is worrying me, what if they start on the kids?? They know they are disabled and that DS sometimes uses a wheelchair. Also we found out last night that he was put inside for armed robbery, supposed to serve 8 1/2 years, reduced to 6 1/2 and only served 3 years...... so TBH I ain't staying here with him next door.....

another thing to try, amazingly enough is your gp, go and see him/her and tell them the situation gps are used to requests like this and will prob be happy to write a letter saying its not in your interest healthwise to stay where you are.
