Some of you will have read my threads on my neighbours but we are pushing to get moved, having the housing manager coming out tomorrow and I want to get out of here. My SIL is in Bolton and I have expressed an inerested in 2 houses up there. Homeless won't help because the police can't give me a letter, council want to me to start the eviction process (ie complain and get them to sort it out or face eviction) but I can't do that as I know it will make things worse. Now I need some help to get us moved, I have 2 disabled kids and they can't live like this, and I have to go out a lot for appointments etc and its so scary going out. Please help me.

did you still have the option of the housing in stafford? i can help you as much as poss with that if it helps?

sparklymieow Thu 02-Jun-05 14:51:43

The housing officer in Bolton has agreed that the two houss I have expressed an interest in would be perfect for us, but she can't override the system otherwise she would. Have to get info for SS to them by tuesday to see if they will give us one. SW is coming today so will ask her to fax the info to them. SIL has spoken to the disability team and they said that the house would be prefect too.

the hosues have 2 receptions room (I culd make one a bedroom for DS) and a downstairs WC.

everything crossed twice for you ,you deserve some happiness .x

nutcracker Thu 02-Jun-05 14:54:42

Right ok sounds like thats the main thing to concentrate on at the mo then as a desicion could be made in the next few days then right ???

Make sure the sw lets you know when the info has been faxed and then ring ahead and tell the other people that it's been sent and you want to know when you can expect a desicion by.

sparklymieow Thu 02-Jun-05 14:57:21

right, the disability team said that they have a seperate list for disabled people, about 100 people on them, mostly single people, and hardly any family, they said that those people are assessed for hosuing before everyone and will be offered if they 'match' the house IYKWIM

jessicasmummy Thu 02-Jun-05 14:58:21

It all sounds promising... just make sure your SW can deliver the rquired goods.

nutcracker Thu 02-Jun-05 14:59:25

Which you do more than a single disabled person too, so there should be no question.

You are gonna have to be really tough with them. You know you should be given it, and they know it. Make a bloody pain of yourself they need to know you won't back down as soon as they say 'oh well the thing is'.

SW is als writing a letter to our council and I will give that to the maager tomorrow.

nutcracker Thu 02-Jun-05 14:59:53

Good good, the more letters the better.

Fio2 Thu 02-Jun-05 15:19:15

are you sure you want to go to bolton? sorry havent read your threads for a while, but are you sure you arent being hasty?

sparklymieow Thu 02-Jun-05 16:05:25

just had SW on the phone she read the letter that she is writing to the local council, its excellent, and I think that it will help us move in this area.

sparklymieow Thu 02-Jun-05 16:08:15

fio2. Bolton is our last resort, its an option that we will use if needed. We are hoping the local council will help us and we wouldn't have to use the bolton connection.

Puff Thu 02-Jun-05 16:12:08

Sparkly, don't know if this helps, but when we needed to get my Dad moved out of his council flat fast, I wrote to The Leader of The Council, basically going over the heads of various department directors etc. I had a reply within a week and Dad was moved within 3 weeks.

I have been talking to the housing manager about this, she is sending the customer manager to us tomorrow.

misdee Thu 02-Jun-05 16:15:05

i had to go above housing bod, to the head of housing. he helped us move within a motnh or so. but he works on the other side of town, not this area.

sparklymieow Thu 02-Jun-05 16:16:57

I went above the housing offcer because I felt he wasn't taking it seriously, shame cause he is normally really good. Hosuing manager was shocked by it TBH.

Fio2 Thu 02-Jun-05 16:17:15

lay it on thick love
we had neighbors that were awful and they started going on about dd and saying she was a retard cos of us and police came round (she had hit dh and he had grabbed me too)) and they guave then a pretty good talking oo, cos their house went up 4 sale and they movbed hurra

sparklymieow Thu 02-Jun-05 16:20:53

that is worrying me, what if they start on the kids?? They know they are disabled and that DS sometimes uses a wheelchair. Also we found out last night that he was put inside for armed robbery, supposed to serve 8 1/2 years, reduced to 6 1/2 and only served 3 years...... so TBH I ain't staying here with him next door.....

sparklymieow Thu 02-Jun-05 16:23:37

and sorry to keep starting threads but they keep getting too long.. I think in total over the threads there is about 1000 messages

spacecadet Thu 02-Jun-05 16:39:36

another thing to try, amazingly enough is your gp, go and see him/her and tell them the situation gps are used to requests like this and will prob be happy to write a letter saying its not in your interest healthwise to stay where you are.

sparklymieow Thu 02-Jun-05 17:47:03

SW just been, she is fab. I love her!!!!! She has written a great letter and she knows them next door (from when she was younger) and what they went down for before..... she said that we do need a fresh start as she can see that we don't have the engery to fight this.
