Calling on the power of MN.........toilets and sinks............

we've got a really stained toilet and sink in our house. It's in the upstairs toilet (main bathroom is downstairs) which hardly ever gets used.........it was pretty horrible when we moved in last september but I'm desperate to get it cleaned up and looking 'respectable'......

Need some easy (and preferably cheap) ways of getting rid of nasty stains in the toilet bowl and on the sink - I have no idea what they are - but don't think they && LOL

Try flat coke first. If that doesn't work it might be a big build up of limescale - I have found the best product for that is Viakal.

don't think it's limescale - there was some of that on the downstairs and managed to get rid of it (and it didn't look the same either LOL)

I'll see what other fantastic suggestions people have and work through them

With the loo, I would use a 100% limescale remover, shove loads in then scrub with brush, and then leave it overnight - then scrub again with brush.

Do you know what the sink is made from (enamel or plastic?).

MP - 99.99% sure it's enamel (as I've damaged one bit just before posting this thread scrubbing it - thank goodness it's the one that's not used often LOL

It's quite hard to damage enamel, what are you scrubbing it with?!

another vote here for spirits of salts. It gets anything off. But be careful - wear gloves and eye protection and do not inhale fumes.

How's your loo, Gwenick?
