Wedding favour ideas please!

For my friends wedding ive nominated myself to do favours so am looking for cheap/homemade/diy suggestions please!

No colour, theme or budget yet, i think im jumping the gun a bit but im too excited. Lowest budget really, also ideas for sort of kids party bags she wants

Kids party bags well depends on the age of the kids. We had a small wedding and I bought ready filled personalised party bags from ebay for £1.99 each. I chose individual characters the dc's liked, eg. WWE wrestling, Ben 10, HSM3. They had pencils, colouring sheet, not pad, sweets, small toy actually struggling to remember what. Each one had the childs name on them and could be personalised with anything.
I added a few wee bits as well.

I had the usual wine and chocolates as favours. I bought the wine minatures on offer in Morrisons and they worked out with the offer less than £1 each, bought personalised chocolates and foilf covered chocolate hearts from and ebay shop. Wine labels the same and put the all in a cello bag tied with ribbon.
Each favour in the end came in way under £2 each and being a wine and chocolate lover I liked them.

For our wedding we had mini packets of love hearts (as in the sweets you had as a child) and you can get the wrappers to be personalised. E.g. for ours we had our first names and then the date of the wedding underneath. They're really cute and I though quite a personal. We kept a packet as a keepsake (sad or what)?! I think they're on the official website. Although I'm sure if you google it it'll come up. As aI recall they were really quite cheap too.

Sorry - Our wedding favours were just pieces of our wedding cake wrapped up .... and eash table had a plate of Belgium chocolates ...

What time of year. I went to a december wedding where we got chritmas tree decorations. Inexpensive I would say - they were little photo frame ones, but we actually used them. At a wedding before easter we got little chocolate eggs wrapped up nicely. home made I would say - inexpensive but nice. If it's a random time of year no ideas - other than maybe don't bother. Other than the two mentioned above I rarely remember or keep any favours and wouldn't miss them either.

Make biscuits, wrap in clear cellophane bags and tie with curly ribbon.

We had Jelly Belly beans in coordinating colours in gauze bags. I bought the beans and the bags in bulk online - the beans from Cybercandy and I can't remember where the bags were from, but they were about a third of the price Confetti were offering.

We really wodged the beans in, making sure that everyone got plenty.

My SIL gave everyone a lottery scratchcard.

I had sweetpea seeds in tiny glass bottles (worked out as 50p per favour I think)

I found a fab poem that linked sweetpeas and love and then did the planting instructions and a lovely black and white photo which matched our wedding colours- I wrapped it up like a scroll and popped it in the bottle so it was like a message in a bottle.

The best bit of this favour was our wedding anniversary was last weekend and we got loads of pictures sent to us of all the flowering sweetpeas in peoples gardens.

You can also do them in tiny envelopes.

The tastiest I have ever had was homemade butter tablet.
We had scratch cards and christmas decorations.
Hawkins Bazaar has loads of good things for childrens ones. I got big plain giftbags for the children and decorated them with their names, got lot's of bits from HB, pens and paper and also did some quiz sheets on the computer.
We gave them out at the start of the speeches to keep them quiet.

We had tiny home made bunches of dried flowers tied with ribbon to match the bridesmaid dresses, only for the women though nothing for the men or children!

Ok what I want for my favours are herseys hugs and kisses don't know how much they will cost though?
One of the best ideas I've seen when working at weddings was each table having a fish bowl of various sweets on it, then favours were miniture pick n mix style bags, throughout day you had to fill your bag up going around everyones table.

We went to a wedding where the "flowers" on the tables were pots of fresh herbs. They were in nice terracotta pots, and each one had a gardening label in it with the name of one of the girls sitting at the table on it. They were the favours. that I got parsley. Anyway, the bride had grown them all herself. V effective and much cheaper than table flowers and favours.

Friend had this at her wedding and TBH they're the only favours I can remember from all the weddings I've attended. Thought it was a lovely gesture.

we had christmas decorations at ours as we got married on 27th Dec - people use them each year and remember the wedding

I was at a wedding early this year where the floral centrepieces at the round tables for the dinner doubled as the wedding favours. Each table sat 8 people (e.g. 4 couples) and had 4 small glass bowls containing a floral arrangement. Each female guest was invited to take a bowl away.

If you are going to have table centrepieces anyway, this might be a good way of cutting the cost. Have no clue what they would have cost but I did think it was a charming idea.

The last wedding a went to (was in the US) there was a card in the napkin (matching with all ohter wedding stationary) saying insted of a favour, money had been donated to a charity which was close to the couples heart.

I thought it was lovely.
