Are you a Tigger or an Eeyore?

Yes yes I have probably spelt Eeyore wrong.

Julie Burchill (fabbo) did a column eons ago about this and I remembered today that I wanted to ask you lot.

Tigger - bouncy, happy, positive, look on the bright side etc etc
Eeyore - sad, negative, down, glass half empty etc

Generalisations of course but I think there is something in it. Most of my friends fall into one catagory or another.

I would class myself as a Tigger as I can be annoyingly upbeat about any disaster whereas dh is undoubtedly an Eeyore, or Victor Meldrew in disguise.

oooooh a response, thought I had bored everyone to death.

Yes most of my female friends are Tiggers and their dh's are Eeyores, JB said this in her article as well.

What annoys your dh?

Well Eyeore is my favourite, but I think I must be some kind of interbred!

Generally Tigger. Moments of Eeyore (say pre-menstrually for example!)

I think I am a cross between Eeyore and Rabbit with a tiny bit of Kanga, Tigger and Owl thrown in.

elibelly · 25/05/2005 13:33

I'm definitely Rabbit, very crotchety and hate anyone trespassing on my garden, and I always think I'm right

Julie Burchill (plagiarist) probably read 'the tao of pooh' before writing that column

Report
huggybear · 25/05/2005 13:35

im a tigger but dh is an eeyore....

he gets stress easily whereas i tend to be more laid back

Report
Twiglett · 25/05/2005 13:35

actually I take back the plagiarist comment - that was slanderous and I didn't mean it, sorry (but don't like jb's articles that much)

boiiiiing - I'm a Tigger kind of bear
DH is Eeyore without question.

Can you imagine a marriage of two Tiggers or two Eeyores - surely wouldn't work!

sharklet · 25/05/2005 13:42

I'm definately and my DH is a mix between tigger and eyeore - he's a very stubborn eyeore when he's in the dumps!
