Two quotes which caught my eye

"If you're a mother working outside the home, I hope you'll take Elisabeth's challenge to pray to God and ask Him if there isn't something better for you."
or
"Those of you mothers who may be listening who can't stay home, who literally must go out and work, possibly because you're a single mother and you must support yourself and your children or possibly because your husband insists that you must go out and work and you are desirous of being obedient to God in that, then let me just say that you can pray that God in His time may enable you to stay home in some unimagined way"

IIRC Elizabeth was the mother of John the baptist. If that is the case I would rather hope that god had kinder plans for my ds than for him to have his head cut off.

Are you sugesting that we must all be SAHM because the bible tells us so?

i wholeheartedly agree with everything in the article. women were made to feel content in the home having children all the time and obeying their husbands becuase god said so.

TBH I don't see the point of discussing any proposition that's made on religious grounds. Mad American fundamentalism (which is what this sounds like) ought to be ignored as far as possible.

But think about the up side of it, we could all be SAHM and we could self actualise at the same time............bargain

well, from a muslim perspective, being a sahm is supposed to be the best possible job for a woman. but if she wants to work, then she can. legally in islam, the old saying which is supposed to be a joke, is the actual law.
' whats his is ours, and whats mine is mine'

oh, and in islam, no matter how much a woman earns, it is her rightto be looked after financially by her husband, even if he earns much much less.

Mohammed managed his first wife's business affairs for her as an employee before they got married. and after. she remained the owner and he continued his job after they were married in the same way as before
