I read a thread on here a couple of weeks ago about cost cutting on food bills and thought I would have a go.I linmped into my local store today(Have a bad foot) with toddler in tow and got myself a small trolly.I had one pound coin on me and gat the small trolly not knowing what to expect.Half way around with trolly loaded up like cracker jack I made my way over to a sales assistant coming from the store room.I said to her "excuse me have you got any larger trolly that you could swap with this one for me" she said no not in there" and bloody walked off.I stood there stunned I know you get what you pay for but I couldn't belive it.Needless to say I dumped all my stuff and walked out. There is no head office phone number. Are they this rude everywhere

they do have a larger trolly but these were outside the store which meant I would have to take all of my stuff out of the trolly and put it somewhere then go outside get it then load my stuff in that one then take the other small one outside again if I had had another pound coin (which I didn't)so how on earth was I supposed to manage that with a bad foot and a toddler. This is why i made the mistake of asking for help.About time they realised that some people would rather pay more for good service.

You should get good service wherever you go but I have noticed a marked difference in the attitudes of the staff in Co-Op and Waitrose. In fact Co-Op and pretty much anyone else. Never got a smile or a cheerful greeting in Co-Op.

Very helpful young man in Somerfield this morning, I never usually shop there but didn't feel like the trek to Tescos, so I was wandering aimlessly up and down the aisles looking for something, he came up and asked me twice if he could help, instead of me having to look for an assistant. (Have to add there was also a very strange customer who started telling me his life story, his brother was coming to stay and he had nothing in the cupboards to eat, etc. etc.!)
