HELP! Ideas on what to buy an 83 yr old Grandma?????

Not Chocolates as she's not a fan, not flowers as she gets loads, not smellys as she was complaining the other day that she'd got loads and not plants because she's had part of her garden taken up and had to take on a gardener because she can't manage it.

So any ideas would be greatly appreciated

How about making a photo album/one of those multiple frames of all her grandchildren and any greats?
My Grannie is 89 next week and I know she'd love this.

If she's got a microwave you could get those heat up microwave slippers or the hot pads for aches and pains....usually scented in lavendar or similar.
Sorry...not very original.

We did a photo thing for xmas and she's got the lavendar scented heat pads.

A year's subscription to Yours magazine. It's targetted at older ladies and is a good read (for them - I'm only 37!).

Got this for my mum's birthday (she is 72)

I don't think she'd like the pampering thing.

She hates going to hairdressers because "theres always people talking about who's died, whos had a heart attack and whos got cancer" so that could be along the same lines but thanks.

She sounds lovely NBG. Are you near her? Couldn't you take her out to a nice National Trust garden or similar and give her a cream tea? Your time and an ear to listen to her will be worth far more to her than anything you can buy.

She would love that LM but it's just my luck that my birthday is on the same day and I'm going on a night out, the night before in my home town and stopping over. Dh is then joining me the next day but is going to see his Grandma before he comes to me so there would be no time for that.

NBG - if you like cream tea idea, why not make up a nice "voucher" for one with you on a day of her choosing, and pop it in the card - then she can arrange with you a date to go, and also, look forward to it
