first period after childbirth. really sorry for tmi but need some advice plz!!

hi i have just got my first period after birth back and was wondering if anyone found theres to be really heavy. ive heard you should ring your gp if you soak a pad in a hour this isnt the case with me its just everytime i go to the toilet there seems to be a lot of blood when i wipe sometimes with clots and there looks that much in the toilet it makes me feel weak at the knees! sorry tmi but does this sound normal for my first period or would you be concerned?

I'm the same as Sleepycat. I also had a 40 day cycle to start with but now 8 months later am back to around 28 days. If you are really worried though check with your GP.
