Anyone had drugs from the doctors to get them through a driving test?

I have just failed my 3rd driving test. Its always silly little things to do with nerves I fail on. On this occasion I kept repeatedly hitting the kerb on a reverse park, my knees turned to jelly and I just couldn't compose myself. However after this mistake I knew I had failed and my nerves vanished as I knew it really didn't matter anymore. I went on to complete the test with only 4 minor points other than the serious kerb hitting incident.
With each test my nerves are getting worse. I have tried Bachs rescue remedy but don't find it does much tbh and the thought of another test brings me out in a cold sweat. Both the examiner and my instructer suggested I visit the doctor who can give me something stronger to help with the nerves. I have booked a appointment for Thursday but am really not sure if he will give me something just to get me through a driving test. Anyone else been in a similar situation?

Yes. I'd only failed one test but my nerves were horrific. I think I was hyperventilating at one point

My GP gave me beta blockers the day before and day of my test which made a huge difference and I passed second time. It's definitely worth asking about.

I passed on my fourth try if that is any help. Not so much nerves, although I certainly did get very shaky legs which is not ideal in a test situation.

I got myself loads and loads of practice, a retired friend of my dads sat with me every day until I really felt more confident in what I was doing. Perhaps you just need tonnes more practice so you have the deep confidence in yourself that you can do it and then you will ignore the examiner and just drive??

I do know how it feels (ie totally rubbish) to keep failing when everyone else is driving so GOOD LUCK

Have you thought about doing one of the intensive driving courses? I wonder if a test at the end of a day of driving might easier, as it might just feel like 'more of the same' IYSWIM.

Yes. I had failed 4 times and I had to pass just to get a job. GP gave me beta blockers which worked really well. I sailed through it. It has been just nerves that made me screw it up before.

I am lucky in that my Nan brought me a car last year and get the opportunity to drive it most days. I am absolutely fine in it and not a nervous driver at all. It really is just purely nerves in a test situation that get me every time.

Just to update, The doctor gave me beta blockers and I passed my test this morning on my forth attempt. It really worked for me and although I was still nervous I was 100 times more composed than last time. I am over the moon!
