DH bought me a beautiful bangle - white and yellow gold one. He brought it into the hospital the morning after I had DD, bless him. He'd been to the jewellers the minute they opened that day.

I had to wait a while, and drop several hints, but I got a white gold diamond and tanzonite ring as a lovely surprise a few months after DS arrived. It's all lovely and sparkly!

Nothing worth having, no! I had an arrangement of dried flowers after having ds and I don't think I had anything after having dd. Mind you, I rarely get birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day or anniversary presents. I used to drop hints, but they got ignored and now I don't bother. If I really want something, I'll get it for myself. It goes on the same Visa card bill, no matter who buys it!

he went to the supermarket and bought all the things he knew I'd craved whilst pregnant like booze, pate, stilton etc

Report
emmatmg · 13/04/2005 21:26

DS1, a bunch of flowers, a baguette and a tub of pate.

I'd been craving it all the pregnancy but could eat it. He took me to sainsburys on the way home from the hospital to buy it

Ds2, flowers I think.

Ds3, nothing.

Yes

A beautiful 1.25 carat 3 stone diamond ring.

Spent a lot of money on it, but to us it was thank you for this one, sorry this one gave you heart failure/disease and really sorry we can't have any more. P.S I love you.

Paid in excess of 2.5 k for it on a Saturday, DH was made redundant (post September 11th)on the Monday.

Oh Happy Days

Got back from hospital with dd having had a fairly difficult birth and cs. Dragged myself up to the bedroom fell into bed....WTF....landed on a box with a beautiful necklace in it. I think I was fairly grumpy about it at the time, but it is my favourite piece of jewellry. When ds was born I got another necklace - love it too. Neither is particularly ostentatious, just really thoughtfully chosen.

Being the wicked sort I am, I think we should have all the lovely, thoughtful presents on one thread with no "I didn't get anything" posts on it and then those of us that want to, could print it off and show it to our skinflint dhs/dps!
