Favourite Websites

Wondered if anyone has any favourite websites (other than mumsnet of course!)

Through mumsnet I have found the strangely addictive flylady.net (a housekeeping site - don't ask and I can't even remember who recommended it!) and some excellent australian children's clothes websites - thanks to those mums netters too.

Is anyone else bored enough on a Saturday night to add to this thread?

www.netmums.com is a great website if you have a local branch in your area. It is full of local information, support and places to go with babies and young children.

I was hoping for more response to this thread because I, too, would love to know of good websites besides mumsnet.

For foodies, I've heard egullet.com is very good and very addictive.

I'm sort of interested in the mothers-who-think website, which is linked to Salon.com (a very well regarded American online magazine), but confess I just can't figure out how the chat threads work. "Talk" on mumsnet seem infinitely more user-friendly.

Are people here interested in blogs? There are some quite good ones about (am feeling lazy and it's too early in the morning, so am afraid you'll have to cut and paste!):

scaryduck.blogspot.com/ very funny - won an award for best british weblog.

loquacious.benhen.com/ again, very well written - has some very funny pieces about his kids. He's also wanting to reach a hit count of 50,000 for his one year blogaversary so click it lots

www.greenfairy.com/ another one that has won an award - not afraid to speak her mind though so probably best to avoid if you're easily offended

Can list more if people are interested but they're good starting points.

Lindy: blog is short for weblog which is a kind of online diary thing. Their subject matter can be political/current events commentary, just a collection of links that the owner finds interesting, wibble about their life, mixture of all three or none of the above.

There are some extremely good blogs about, and there are some really dire ones. However, I find them extremely addictive!

My favourite is televisionwithoutpity.com. If you're into ER, West Wing, CSI (all my fave shows) it provides a scene by scene account of each episode. Only for real addicts tho!

Tried to look at greenfairy at work today, but it was blocked. Have just satisfied my curiosity at home and am not sure why it was blocked at work. Any ideas?
More importantly, what am I going to give as an excuse when the security "police" demand an explanation as to why I was trying to access a blocked site (and believe me they will)

Thats the same as my DH's name. The name itself isn't made up but the spelling is really odd!

There are 3 of me; I'm quite surprised as both are relatively unuasual. My dh is 1 of 1, which doesnt surprise me as his is not an English name. But apparently my children 'do not exist'...So the database must be made up from records of adults? Anyone know how it works?
