stress incontinence HELP !!

I gave birth to my daughter 6 weeks ago but i my incontinence has only satarted in the last 2 weeks and seems to be getting worse i leek when i sneeze and when im realy desperate for a wee some times i leek. i have not had my six week check yet but just wanted to know if anyone else had sufferd delayed stress incontinence? also have been gaining weight over last 2 weeks and my water retention has come back i'm not pregnant as i got my peroid on friday.Can anyone help

stress incontinece can be delayed and even appear a year later, and it very common

do mention it at your six week check and get a referral to a clinic or a physiotherapist. don't get disheartened as there is lots than can be done with exercise and/or new medicines on the market

also try drinking cranberry juice as sometimes a bit of bladder irritation can cause problems

they also have details of a helpline you can call - I think you speak to a trained nurse if you call it

agree with meysey re:bladder irritation. it is best to drink a reasonable amount of fluid during the day, and to avoid caffeinated drinkws as that irritates the bladder and exacerbates things.

and keep doing the pelvic floor exercises! I was exactly the same in that it came on a bit after the birth but regular exercises has really helped. can almost sneeze without fear now!!

Thanks for all the advise will go and get cranberry juice,and look forward to sneezing without fear,I feel alot better for talking about it and will check out the website thanks again ladies.
