Ikea Toys?

Hiya all, I'm off to Ikea tomorrow....what toys are available at the moment?
What should I look out for?
Is the mechanno on the website any good?

They had some lovely wooden building bricks. Just natural wood coloured.

Not a toy, but we bought DS a huge light shade in the shape of the sun for his room, he loves it.


Have one of their dodgy hotdogs for me, with oodles of ketchup and mustard.

Can't have lightshade - 'cos the ceiling is too low.......but I've heard they do nice easels

Not a shade really it is on the ceiling, it is flush with the ceiling, have a look they are brilliant and only £12, trying to convince DH to let me have one in our room.

Yep but it's for my lean to conservatory...can't have any sort of lightshade....

Oh I'll be glad when this playroom is finished [insert tired icon]

Another vote for the wooden train set, we bought one for ds twins (3) a year or so ago and it has had constant play and survived through it!

I wanted to buy them the dolls house as it isn't girly at all but DH wasn't for it.

the blackboard/magnetic whiteboard easel is fantastic value. as are arts/crafts materials, wooden kitchen type toys - any wooden toys actually.

Have 1full set and 2 part sets of brio train sets - so no train set and 3 (yes 3) doll houses already (a nice wooden, an old wooden with lights and a plastic folding) - so I can't have that either

gorgeous flat posable teddy(cream, orange or blue), unusual !!but gorgeous bought dd cream one £5, but £1.50 go's to unicef.
think easels where on offer in gateshead one?lots of them about, but didnt look close as dd already got one.
gorgeous chairs and over the bed shades and the finger puppets looked cute too!

we went wednesday and have to say..it was large hotdogs with plenty of red

I love Ikea too.. perhaps this should be called the 'Ikea Appreciator's Thread' . I am pining for Ikea because since we moved South in 2003, we no longer live near one that is practical to visit very often. I have not been for over a year!!!

We love the restaurant too! The whole Ikea Experience is just so..... pleasing!!

Re toys.. well toy dept anyway.. our friend got DS a lovely 'bed tent' for Christmas. It's a kind of arch way thar fits most single beds (and his is a bottom bunk, adapted because he has cp and it still fits!) It's like a big rainbow arching over his bed lengthways and he loves to name the colours every night.

saw that rainbow over bed thingy
dd loved it and kept getting into the bed, they also do a leaf that hovers over too..cant wait till dd in normal bed

I childmind and at 3 they tend to go to Nursery

Currently I have [email protected] m, 2@17m, 1@20m, 1@28m, 1@30m and I've just been approached by a 1m (for Sept)

So I'm really looking for under 3 toys for they new playroom

Dd (3) loves the seat that has a pull down cover so she can hide in it. The one on display is always popular. We bought a children's play tent (takes up the whole living room! looked small in the store...). Bought nice felt tip pens where one end has a tiny stamper on it in different shapes. I love Ikea too, especially when I leave dd in the free play area for an hour! And my personal favourite is not a toy, but they do these lovely small storage boxes in various colours - they can also be used for food, but are great for storing pens, bits and bobs etc.
