my best mate got married in gretna. it was small and cosy and if thats what you are looking for i would reccomend it. lovely photo spots, very friendly and easy to organise cos they do a lot of the planning in the package. send off for the info they send a lot through to you and it explains things well.

I got married at Gretna last year. I recommended it to Peckarollover last week and she's just posted a thread to say she's booked.

It's very nice. We booked through Gretna Weddings and got a package for £999 which included the ceremony, venue, photographer, hotel and a car or carriage to the ceremony. We also paid for the piper which was optional but only cost £40.
Gretna weddings actually do it all for you which is very stress free.

We went to a friends wedding last year. just 5 of us including bride and groom. It was lovely and quick, and felt really special. We were the last in the day, so it was quite quiet and there was no rush.

You don't have to go to Gretna to do it like that!

Just book it at local register office, don't tell anybody, take 2 friends as witnesses if you want (or oik 2 in off the street if you don't) and bob's your uncle. Much cheaper too. Spend the balance on your house or your honeymoon or whatever you like
