What's wrong with Haribo sweets ??

I've noticed a few times on hear now, people saying things like the dredded Haribos ect.
I just wondered if it's because they're sweets or if they were particulally bad for children? I've always trusted Haribo as it's a very well known brand. If they are much worse than other brands, then I'll stop my daughter having them.
Could someone please let me know.

They are full of crap and will give your kids super powers like being able to fly, howl and stay up for 24 hours stretches!

We have weirdy non additive jelly sweets in this house for the DCs as they are no where near as bad for you interms of crap contained as Haribo - DS can fly after having those and DD grows fangs and jumps from the roof howling!

Mind you my neighbours son is one of the actors in the ad that is on TV at the moment so I have to pretend they are great!

well.....haribo (IME with my children), seem to have some special ingredient that makes them bounce and hit the ceiling.

not sure what thet ingredient is of course, and I often wich I could have it in tablet form for me.......I would LOVE that energy that the children seem to get from haribo.....

Like everything else - fine in moderation. And great for bribery purposes if not overused....

dd1 took great delight in pointing out the 'no artificial colours' label on a mini-bag she got from school. so no more me pinching them off her

I love them too. They don't seem to have ant effect on my daughter, but there must be somthing in them to send other children up the wall. I use them for bribarry mostly too.

They're not vegetarian, and it annoys me that they get handed out to my veggie kids at school/parties/hallowe'en/friend's houses etc etc. And I'd much rather they had a bit of chocolate than sweets anyway!

eww, why what's in them ?
you'd think all sweets would be o.k for vegetarians. If you tell me, you'd probubly put me off them. Which wouldn't be a bad thing.

Bloody gelatine.
In the States you can get Hal al ones which are made with a gelatine substitute and are suitable for veggies,
I want them!

Gelatin. And I think they even helpfully tell you if it's beef or pork. Yum...

I hate haribo just for being sugar-coated sugar bombs but I actually like that tv advert. The little girl is an inspired peice of casting.

'look into my eyes...'

Haribo aren't as bad for mine as most - the colours are ok, so tis "just" the additive

I think hariboos taste horrible.... that should be their new ad slogan.. .

You want a chewing nut, that's a proper sweet.

DS's doctor used to offer the Gummi Bears (this is not in UK)as reward for injections...all things in moderation and all that...

Sorry for being a bit thick, but what exactly is gelatin? I've heard of it. What part of the animal does it come from ?

They turn my boys into crazed maniacs. They smell really nasty and they are not food.

I can't even have them in the room with me. They smell horrible.
