Not likely at the moment but want to make some emergency plans just incase.

We are home owners,no debt other than mortgage.

What would we get with or without savings?

Have a horrible suspicion either way it would be nothing.

Would we still have to pay council tax?

Do you have income protection with the mtg? They should pay out for a year or so,I think, depending on policy and how long you have had it.

If you have less than £16K iirc you can get some money off council tax.

You would get some child tax credit allowance.

I would imagine your dh would get JSA.

If your joint income is under 15k or so I think you would get free prescriptions and eye tests etc.

JSAc for 6 months. He'll get his NI stamp paid and should get the £54 a week benefit if he signs on.
And I think you'll qualify for Council Tax benefit depending on what you earn.
Presumably your tax credits will increase as you have less income.
And I assume you have payment protection on your mortgage? Your Dh will have to sign on for JSA in order to fulfill the requirements on most policies.

It crashes half way through so I'll try again another time.
