This centres are invaluable.
They help:
- Reintroduce contact with parents and children who have not had contact for a long time.
- Provide therapy to children affected by family break up/ domestic abuse
- Make court assessment regarding a contact and custody cases
- Provide a safe place for contact between a child and parent when a parent rightly or wrongly is accused of violence
and many more services.
Currently family on low income can have these services paid for throuh legal aid. But legal aid have proposed to stop this. Without, it will mean only people that can afford these services will benefit. Without these services, court battles will be prolonged also which is not in the best interest of the child.
