Was going to post in geeky stuff, but I don't think you need to know about PC'S to help

My dear old dad(81 on sunday) has got a new pc. to cut a long story short, he decided to change anti virus, from Norton to a free one.
he has just found out that Norton heve taken a years subs off him. he is adamant that he never clicked on renew only on the later button.
the old pc is no longer in use. the tower is sitting in my hallway toatlly unconnected.

any ideas of what he can do(he has already contacted barclycard)
