...am I the LEAST sensitive mother on the planet?

I was quite surprised at the amount of mothers who were choked up this morning. One woman left before the coach did so she wouldn't start crying.

I'm quite happy for DD to go away with school, it's two nights on a muddy adventure holiday with her friends, she'll have a great time, and she is year 6 so it's about time she spent a bit of time away from me. The activities are so packed in she won't even have time to miss me and she'll be back before I know it.

So am I a heartless moo ?

My dd same year went on a residential for 3 days last week. I actually enjoyed not having to get up so early and only having to take ds to school.

But, when she went on her very first school day trip, I waved her off and had tears streaming down my face - she was as happy as Larry. I was a quivering wreck (pregnancy hormones honest guv).

No, I thought exactly the same when ds went on his Y6 trip. I think some of the kids there can't have spent nights away from home before judging from the upset in some of th parents' faces.

Enjoy your peace & quiet!
