MerlinsBeard · 08/09/2008 10:47

from pressing start to running thru a normal 40 degree wash with no extra rinse, no prewash just a wash, a rinse and a spin.

I bet you can;t beat mine

It takes forever in our house - my DS has to be constantly watched as he has a habit of pushing the buttons on the machine ...

ermm not sure exactly depends on how much stuff is in there (one of those fancy smancy ones that works out how much stuff is in there and adjust times accordingly) think usually around 1hr 30 (Daewoo)

My old one took about 2 1/2hrs

Miele - 1hr 58 or 1hr 6 if I put in on "short".

But it also adjusts itself depending on how much is in there

Just over an hour I think but it is an old machine. Also it makes a big difference if you have a cold fill. Ours is hot and cold so most of the water goes into machine from the boiler. Many modern machines have to heat up the water themselves which adds to the time of course.

I reckon yours is about 3 hours MoM.

?? Am I right.

(my dishwasher on the eco setting takes almost 3 hours - first time I thought it had broken!)

I do most stuff on quick wash as I am a slattern...obviously pay more care to important/dirty things....we have 3 quick wash settings, 29minute. 45 and 60...I love quick wash.

wow - 15 mins!! just time to make a cup of tea

My washing mzchine takes 35 mins on 35, 1000 with two rinses - quicker with normal rinse but think 30mins.

Ours does have an AA economy 40degree wash that seems to take all day.

1hr 23mins, or 50mins if on a quick wash.
It's a hoptpoint.
(it says 1hr 30, but it always jumps from 7mins left to being done...not sure why)

My dishwasher (also Bosch) has 5 settings - a cold rinse (15m), a 35 degree wash (15m), a 50 'eco' wash (2hrs!), a 65 degree wash (also 2hrs) and a heavy soil 95 degree wash (about 2h 15m). I nearly always use the 35 degree with a rinse beforehand (30m in total) and the stuff comes out sparkling. Only use the more hardcore programmes if we have had a roast of soemething with mucho dirty pans and crockery. How on earth can a 2 HOUR cycle be economical ?!

NDP re the dishwasher, I can only imagine that it does a longer rinse or something like that to loosen all the dirt? I have no idea why it takes so long, but according to the book, the eco uses way less electricity than the standard programmes. (and significantly less water too!)

Report
nailpolish · 08/09/2008 11:02

all eco cycles are longer ndp

my normal wash is 1hr 55mins but i can click 'extra quick' and its 46mins

i do notice the diff tho, whites are not quite as sparkly
