Just got official confirmation that I've got a place on this years Moonwalk. Anyone else doing it?

I am so excited. Have started serious training now, and it feels really good. I'd forgotten how exhilerating exercise was.

So you are both doing it for the first time too?
I'm gradually building up the walks, haven't done any huge ones as yet. I'm aiming at the moment to maintain a speed of 4mph. Keep increasing the time of a walk, 30mins, then 45 mins then 60 mins etc, and so far have kept the pace pretty steady.
I've really been enjoying it, and even when i don't feel like going out, I do and feel so good afterwards.

I did this in 2000 and did no training at all before. I was knackered on the night

I've heard today I've got a place but noone else I know is doing it so it would be nice to know where you are all from. Haven't started any training yet as I didn't think I'd get a place, and I haven't exercised for two years, but I WILL do it!

I am here to be your one woman cheering squad. I think you are all great and will do really well with this. Make sure you have proper footwear and start training. Go girls go!

I still haven't heard anything and I presumed it meant that I hadn't got a place... perhaps it means I have a place???

MTMMarsLady - thanks for cheering us on

I'm in London, and training in the parks, usually Regents Park. Found that trying to do a walk locally was irritating as I keep having to stop to wait for traffic. Feel really away from it all in the park, and use the time just to think my own thoughts without any distactions.

Unicorn - has your entry fee cheque been cashed?
Mine was cashed ages before I had my letter, but kept thinking it didn't mean I had a place.
