Do you need it if you do it on line?
Actually I'm not sure you need a driving licence to tax a car anyway. Just insurance & MOT.

I agree JUra, I taxed my car online, so much easier than digging out all the documents...

You should still be able to tax it just by entering the vehicle reg.

I taxed mine online recently shortly after moving house so the wrong address was on the forms. We did however have a postal re-direction in place so it did come to our new address without any problems.

Don't you just fill out part of the v5 to change address. I don't think we needed any supporting documentation.

Thanks everyone
Managed to get through to the local offices who advised me I could get it done at the Post office with jusyt the reg doc and insurance (and would have needed MOT if car had needed one)
They were right! PLus nice lady who works there gave me the licence change forms and said that should probably sort out my 'lost licence' problem.
I am so lucky! Hopefully will be more careful and organised in future!

Just tried to do mine online as it's due too, but it keep saying that the number I've typed in is invalid. Grr! Long wait in the post office queue for me tomorrow morning!
