As I say, I'm going to try to live by:

'Don't sweat the small stuff'.

I'd like to see hundreds of others and see what other people base their lives/sanity on.

So list them here!

Well my mums is "Choose to have a good day".

I think its a pretty good one so I've tried to take it on as my own

I found one once on a carry out case of cider

"Keep upright. Avoid shaking."

If I manage those two things I feel I have done fairly well

Lol Franny

I still haven't got one..I sometimes veer toward

'Don't try too hard'

Because often things will resolve if you stop trying to control them.

But I have very poor judgment and never know when I am over-controlling anyway, I tend to miss the wood for the trees iyswim.

lol F&Z

people will disagree with me but;

'you make your own luck'

and I stand by it, as long as you have your health and a brain in your head

The key to true hapiness is not getting what you want, it's wanting what you've already got.

PLus, as my Dad always says, not matter what shit life throws at you - someone somewhere else is going through worse.

"Have a good time all the time."

If it's good enough for Spinal Tap, it's good enough for me!

Of course, on that basis an alternative would be "As long as there's sex and drugs, I can do without the rock and roll."

I also like:

Life may not be the party you expected, but you might aswell dance while you are here.

Enjoy the little things in life. The big things are great too, but they come by less often and there's a lot more hanging about.

My friend's dad has a brilliantly miserable motto.

"Life is like a shit sandwich: the more bread you got, the less shit you eat."

I cannot think of a single situation where it wouldn't help

'Manners cost nothing'
'Treat people how you would want to be treated'

I have these on the noticeboards for my staff at work.Bit worrying since I manage complex care services and you would think that the staff would be able to manage those two with consumate ease, but no!
