Character book day, help needed

I remember a thread about this before but I can't find it in the archive, so can anyone help with some suggestions?
To coincide with world book day, dd's school are having a book character day where they dress as a favourite character. Dd's favorite is Horrid Henry but she won't dress up as him. Anyone any ideas? She's nearly 8.
Thanks!

Ds1 is going as Harry Potter (we already have the outfit - hoorah!) I was chatting about it with RL friends though and we agreed it's harder for girls. My bf's son is going as Tin Tin and another as Bart Simpson (that well known literary character).

I will give it some thought...

That was me suggesting it too, not questioning roisin.

Dd went to her last one as Angelina Ballerina, but that might be a bit young for an 8 year old? Quite easy though!

Might be a bit young for yours, but dd went a couple of years ago as Angelina Ballerina, v nice and easy if you already have ballet gear.

Do you know, I reckon she might quite like the idea of Miss Hoolie. Sometimes she's quite up for being a bit different, other times she just wants to be unobtrusive!
I had a look at the cover of Matilda. Should be easy enough. She quite likes the idea of Hermione although she's never seen or read it. I think she just wants her hair crinkly
