I want to find an old friend but no idea at all where she is now living.

Any chance?

She got married and was moving but other than that, nothing.

I would love to get in touch with her but just do not know where to start.

We were in touch until 2002 and then it just stopped.

I am in Kent.

Her maiden name initials were FB and her married name FM.

No friends in common and can't find her address. Just reread all her letters but why oh why did she never write her address on them?

Not on FB, could try FR.

do you know which schools/uni she went to? you could look up old pupils on their websites maybe?

do you know her parents? or where they live/lived? try finding their number and getting in touch that way?

We met around 23 so past school time.

I keep everything so can't understand why I can't find any old address books.

have you tried just googling her? surprising how people can sometimes be tracked down like this

any memorable events/stories/places/people/etc she ever mentioned that would be some sort of starting point?

No advice I'm afraid itati but I'm looking for an old friend too - I think of her often - so I know how you feel.

Her initials (maiden name) are DZ - she moved from London to Ireland - and I stupidly lost her address after I got married and moved abroad and then I lost the note I made of her married name [complete twonk emoticon].

I wish mumsnet had a facility to search for friends as I'm completely ignorant about sites like Facebook ...

Good luck Itati and hope you find her!

It's sad when this sort of thing happens. You can be good friends with someone one day and a combination of life events means that one day your lives have completely separated. THis has happened to me with 2 good friends. One I found on facebook after 9 years. The other I am still hoping to find one day! (Donna Edwards of Bath - are you out there?)

where did you meet? if it was at work friends reunited has a work bit and facebook probably does too. Maybe you could add a group to facebook?

erm, not sure other than that. I'm in Kent but it's not me!

We could have a friends lost topic to go with the toys one!

We met when we were nannying.

I doubt she is in Kent tbh.

OKAY!

I googled but got disheartened after the 23rd page.

Tried GenesReunited and linked to FriendsR.

What are the chances of typing in her maiden name and it coming up with that page with her married name??? Has to be her, right?

Have sent a message. Will see what happens!!

No news yet.

But if it is her, she works and has a baby so maybe she hasn't been on line yet.

Oooh, only just come back to this, many thanks for those suggestions Chipmonkey - will definitely check those sites out ...particularly appreciated as my friend grew up in Canada and so UK school sites are no good to me in this case ....

Itati .. that sounds promising ... let us know what happens ....!!
