Ok here's the deal. Just pulled back bed in spare room to see quite a bit of black fungussy damp stuff on the wall. What do i do with it in the short term? I have someone coming to stay in it at the weekend...

We had the same problem on our old flat. I used bleach to wash it away. It gets rid of the smell as well. It will be okay for a short term solution but it will keep coming back.

Wash it with bleach to kill the fungus. You can get some of this as well:

thanks.

this bedroom is in an extension that has had problems, and i'm fairly confident its the only damp part of the house. Plus as i rarely use the room I have the heating off on it most of time - oops.

ok folks - ja9's husband Mark just home from youthclub (it's my work I'm not a toyboy!!!) to be taken by the hand and shown our mouldy wall - nice!!!

Thanks for your wise advice - the mildrew removal spray that we had under the sink seems to be doing the trick and the heating will be left on.

One more thing though... any advice for cleaning the mould off the bed that was against the wall - it's not too bad but needs to be cleaned off the fabric covering the bed base as well as the matress,

Thanks in advance,

Mark
