What was your Saturday job as a teen?

Was thinking about mine earlier. I used to work in a greengrocers and remember it being a terrible job. Freezing bloody cold in the winter and I was frightened to death in the summer with all the wasps swarming around all the fruit. They had an old till where you had to hold down all the buttons together and a wooden box would fly out the bottom. The amount of times I used to slam my fingers in the till. Owwwww! Then moved onto a job in a newsagents - much more comfortable there.

Whilst I was in sixth form I worked at Wimpy (which later changed to Burgetking). Lovely red dungarees and cap, and the chance to dress up as Mr Wimpy! I was the senior party hostess by the time I left, and it was then Burgerking, and ran most children's parties and trained up new staff to do them too. Doing 4 parties each Sunday, after a night out round town on a Satursday, could be hell! On Saturdays I was always on till.

I did saturdays/sundays as a kitchen assistant in a private residential home, and in the holidays I used to do the care work as well. Had a paper round form 12-15 thou, (It was quite good as we collected the money as well, one customer paid it 1/4ly, so each 1/4 I would have about £50 for one week, and £100 odd pound in tips at xmas.

Working in a Video shop - I absolutely loved that job! I was 16 - just left school and at college. It used to be just me and my friend (who was 18) and we'd put the music videos on, dance about the shop, serve the odd customer, take it in turns to nip to the shop next door for snacks, and then discuss what we were going to do that weekend

It was a fab, fab time and I was gutted when I left college because that meant I had to get a "proper job".

Blimey - almost forgot - I also did a bit of chambermaiding for my mums' cousin in her B&B for a stint one summer. Actually quite enjoyed that. Managed to do a few spots of babysitting too for one of the neighbours. Actually dp (at the time, now dh) and I lost our virginity whilst babysitting there

I was a waitress first for my uncles catering company £2.50 per hour then in a local pub £3.01 an hour was the going rate of the brewery. I also worked in the local cinema as an usher. All this before I was 18 - I did start at about 14 though!

I worked in a local bakery (early Saturday starts - bleugh) then moved to a shoe shop in The Strand in London. Earned about £11 a day.

Ah, but in my day you could buy an outfit, get as drunk as a sack, fall out of a nightclub and still have change for a kebab. All in nice discounted shoes too!
