ITs going to be mad isn't it???? .

Tell me what it is like, good reports only, cos i'm sooo excited. This is the polar opposite to the sort of holiday we would normally do but we havea 3 year old who loves swimming and soft play. First holiday for nearly four years and want DD to love it. DD happy = happy mummy and daddy.

Also, can you recommend any (cheap) days out nearby incase the fun gets too much

Where abouts in devon is it???

We live in Devon I have a huge list of cheap things to do to get me through the hols.

We're South Devon but went to Woolacombe with the Sun, the site not our thing at all but the dc adored it

a friend of mine (he is the dad of a little girl at playgroup) was telling me how they had been to that site (i think) in april and - like you - it was the opposite of their usual holidays but with 3 kids of v different ages it seemed it might keep everyone happy - they loved it so much that they booked to go again next year immediately! So i hope you enjoy it too
also i grew up in devon and there is indeed a million things to do across the county - can't remember where devon cliffs is but i am sure some people who live in devon now will be able to give you tips

We went last year and loved it.
There is a spa, brill pool and loads to keep the kids happy. The beach is on site and is really lovely.

Oh i went there last year, the beach is great especially in the morning when quiet (we went in march so probably busier now) we only discovered this when leaving!

While staying there we visited www.miniatureponycentre.com/ the best day out ever, have been to several similar places since but nothing this good

We also went to sidmouth donkey sanctuary on the way home but that wasnt that close if i recall.

Dartmoor good fun for kids

The best poached eggs and toast ever was from the cafe at www.dartsfarm.co.uk/
Happy holidays!

We were the wek before last and is was fab.

It in Exmouth. There is a museum/farm type place right next door which has a mixture of vintage car, motorbikes and victorian shops. But also has lots of animals and children play areas.

We didn't realy go places as dd1 is 4.6yrs and dd2 is 10mths so we tended to go to the beach in morning then go swimmimg in afternoon.

thanks for the tips I want to go for two weeks now . Will be hard to stay on site i think with everything going on. But hell, just strolling on the beach looking for crabs sounds like bliss (i live 2 minutes walk from the beach here, but its not quite the same and i love the beach i do). Will definately have to get my horse fix so will consider the minature horse place. But i think we might just veg out near the pools etc and let DD enjoy herself.

We went when mine were about 1 and 3. Its a great site. Very clean, they've spent a lot of money on new buildings etc. Loads of activities and a great pool.
Beach is great there too.

You'll have a fab time.

have done the sun holidays several times. We have got two ds 4.11 and 15 mths. We have always had a good time and good accomadation - aslong as you are not expecting the ritz!! We went to Primrose Valley in april which is also their flagship site and had a great time. We have always upgraded and this time we paid £200 to upgrade to a "prestidge" apartment and an extra bedroom. It was worth it for the extra space. I have personally always found them clean and well maintained sites, but do expect to spend out in the arcades - we save loose change from one year to the next soley for this!! The on site shops do tend to be more expensive but thats what u pay for convienience. We also save our tesco clubcard vonchers and find out what is in the area for a cheap day off site.

Im glad im not the only one that is excited. We have done the sun holidays for a couple of years now and have been lucky with the accomodation but this will be our first trip to devon so keep the reviews coming.

The Pony Centre is fantastic we always have season tickets so spend most of the hols there. This year it's just opened a tiny play cafe with mushrooms my dc insist I sit and eat our picnic at, I have to pretend I'm a fairy !!!!!!!!

My dd loves the pony rides only £1.50. The indoor bit is fab has a gorgeous rocking horse can never get my dd off and now sofas!!!!!! The outdoor play area and picnic area is super as are the trampolines -oh forgot loads of cute animals too. If you stay long enough to watch My Fumble you can help heard the ponies back into the barn.

The cafe is good but on a good day it's lovely taking a picnic.

Nice walks round the lake.

It's lovely

There are masses of lovely walks on Dartmoor, Stover Country Park (free)is great.

Teignmouth has a fab play park(free) on the sea front,my dc and I spend the other half of the hols on the beach there it's lovely. We bike ride along the sea front, play on the beach then wash off in the water fountains in the playpark before home.

The Pony Centre isn't cheap but is worth it. Penniwell Farm is popular but I prefer The Pony Centre. Babbacombe model village is good but pricey as is Paignton Zoo. Occombe Farm near Paignton has a lovely( free) letterboxing trail, nice farm shop and cafe.

Blackpool Sands and Bigbury are gorgeous beaches but probably too far.

There is masses to do in Devon you'll be spoilt for choice.Have fun!!!!!

chocolatespiders - if you have used sun holidays before you get a priority booking form in the post which means you get to book online.

With all these suggestions I want to go NOW!!!

if anyone knows where I can 'book' some nice weather online it would be appreciated!

Hi, we went there in May and had a great time. It's quite hilly on site so be prepared for aching legs.

Just outside the Haven Park is a country life place and we went there twice because it was so good. It's not cheap but you can easily spend a day there and there's loads of undercover stuff if it's raining. It's got farm animals (goat walking) loads of play areas etc especially good for children under I would say.

Also the Starbucks on the Haven site is great!
