Funny ones and ones with RL type scenarios

Blossomhill Thu 27-Jan-05 21:13:46

The Gruffalo is a fantastic book for that age!

Hulababy Thu 27-Jan-05 21:15:18

DD enjoys the Gruffalo, Gruffalo's Child, Room on a Broom...WE're going on a bear hunt..

RL scenarios: Alfie and Annie Rose books,

Seem to be reading a lot of the old fairy tales and Disney stuff recently though, so may have to go and riad her book box to remember more.

Hulababy Thu 27-Jan-05 21:15:53

Oh, Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham - Dr. Suess books. She likes them too.

nasa Thu 27-Jan-05 21:20:24

what's pumpkin soup?

WigWamBam Thu 27-Jan-05 21:21:26

Yep - Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper, and the follow-up, A Pipkin of Pepper for the Pumpkin Soup is good, too.

Jez Alborough's Fix-It Duck, and Some Dogs Do

Giraffes Can't Dance - Giles Andreae

A Kitten Called Moonlight (can't remember who wrote it)

Six Dinner Sid (can't remember who wrote it)

TheBearWhisperer Thu 27-Jan-05 21:23:00

deep in the woods theres an old white cabin
with pumpkins in the garden
theres a good smell of soup
and tonight with luck
you'll see a bagpiping cat by the window
a squirrel with a banjo
and a small singing duck....

jangly Thu 27-Jan-05 21:23:14

Also another vote for Tiger who came for tea.

DD's not quite 3 and has enjoyed Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs for quite a while now. We have them on a CD in the car too and she finds them really funny

WigWamBam Thu 27-Jan-05 21:25:34

Pumpkin Soup. The best you ever tasted. Made by the cat, who slices up the pumpkin. Made by the squirrel, who stirs in the water. Made by the duck, who measures out a pipkin of salt, and tips in just enough.

TheBearWhisperer Thu 27-Jan-05 21:26:40

they stir their soup and play their song

TheBearWhisperer Thu 27-Jan-05 21:27:06

everybody is happy....
or so it seems.....

WigWamBam Thu 27-Jan-05 21:28:42

Then pop off to bed in a quilt stitched together by the cat, embroidered by the squirrel, and filled with fine feathers from the duck.

And it's peaceful in the old white cabin.

WigWamBam Thu 27-Jan-05 21:29:17

Everyone has his own job to do. Everyone is happy. Or so it seems ...

nasa Thu 27-Jan-05 21:35:35
