I have decided I need to shape up and stop being such a slut with the cleaning.

I've also decided to try and follow Titania's routine (because it's the most detailed! I need structure!) and this weekend had to spend the whole weekend blitzing the house... as it wasn't clean enough to follow her routine!

Verdict so far... I'm shattered!

Oh I have adjusted two things though

Firstly I'm getting up at 7.30, when ds gets up.. any earlier and I'd cry in a heap on the floor...

second I don't mop the floor three times the day. No puppy, no need

do one room at a time. make a list of what needs doing in each room and prioritise with the most urgent at the top. Get a bin bag and go round the room getting rid of all the rubbsih first. then tidy up, then clean.

I know this may sound really silly but when I was off on Mat leave I used to sit down and make a list of everything that needed doing in the day. and I mean a full list as in wash up, dry up put dishes away, wipe down sides etc etc. Used to always have a long list but felt sssoooo good when I got most of it done. My system was to get the front rooom tidy first so top of the list was tidy and hoover there and then did the kitchen list and then tidy bathroom then next on the list was extras for that day eg polish front room or clean bathroom fully (wash and polish tiles etc) or do bedroom. As long as I got the basics done tho if I missed the extras the house still looked tidy. DP used to laugh himself silly over my lists but then hes a natural cleaner. Also I used to get x number of things done and then have a break and a treat.

BTW, if you want a nice simple program to "tick off" your to do lists (and have recurring ones - I'm sad, I have laundry listed to recur every single day - along with regular appointments like baby groups etc) then I can thoroughly recommend Is There Something To Do?

tbh I preferred the Fairyfly routine, sod washing the floor 4 times a day...life is for living...

I realised I was in need of help when I wrote on my many lists "make a list!"

Well it's all going well... house is clean

I don't do any washing up at lunch time though, I don't eat and by then ds has only had two bottles and two bowls of food... I feel like I'm cheating!
