you could have a 1980's party

RA RA skirts, leg warmers, pixie boots, bat-wing jumpers, shoulder pads etc etc

Yes! We had one for DH's 40th last night. Fantastic evening - would do it all again next week Unfortunately some time until we have another big event to celebrate so next one will have to be 'just because'.

Have fun

yes have a party. But why £250?

Last night on casualty they had a come-as-you-were-at-18 party which I thought was a great idea. By Septemeber no-one will know you got the idea from casualty!

Yorkie

Have just done my maths and realised how old I am compared to you {38 }

You were only 5 in 1980

i'm 30 this year too yorkiegirl. but am going to be 7 months pregnant. undecided about what to do, maybe just go out for dinner with a few people. i quite like having a party in the garden (my birthday is the beginning of may) but the weather isn't reliable enough. so that's no help with your decision!

Oh yes! Have a party! Definitely get organised now, make some plans, book something. Send invites early to all your old friends from school/uni so they book the date in their diary. Go for it!

Fancy dress can put some people off, unless it is very clear there is absolutely no pressure. I suppose it depends on your mates as to how they are likely to react.

Definitely as it's a double celebration

Go for it!

Dh & I did a joint birthday cum engagement party in 2003 & are planning another this year (he'll be 31 in November, I'll be 35). Works really well as you can mix both lots of friends.
