ours has started this week and they're so quick.

it'll be great though - cant wait. just enough time for it to be finished before baby due in march ! and need to play muscial bedrooms when completed - move ds into ours now, baby into ds now and us into loft.

just wondered if anyone experienced problems - we've got cracks appeared in all the ceilings from the banging and pulling out of the original boards up there and laying of the new flooring. builder says its ok - may just need filling in afterwards but would check them anyway.

we're having 2 dormers - side and rear. and velux at front. will be one bedroom and ensuite bthrm. lots of storage!

what about ideas for colour schemes - got nice white bedding/curtain set with squares of lilac and sage with flower type thing in middle of that. used to have lilac/violet white walls in last bedroom to match. not sure now starting from scratch again.

No - but I want one
I'm having a conservatory

Sage is a very nice wall colour

I like Eqyptian Cotton - it's a very warm grey (sounds aweful - but it's lovely)

Never mind next time I can have mine

we had ours done last summer. The cracks all happened to us and we had to redo decor in all bedrooms - some just patches. Don't forget you will also have to redo the hall, stairs and landing too. We still haven't quite finished!

We have dulux Celtic Forest on our walls - have to have it mixed for you. I love it but dh not too sure... In ensuite we have natural wicker which goes well with the stone effect tiles.....

we loved ours new bedroom thought - like a little sanctuary

Sorry to be nosey, but would you mind sharing how much it has cost you?

Me and dp plan to eventually have loft converted, but have the rest of the house to finish first, so not even contemplating getting quotes done yet!

our total £20k. but if you can find an exellent builder/specialist its worth it, and its done for life then. ours has an excellent reputation and would rather someone who jolly well knows what hes doing and of course done them for donkeys years too.

i think cost depends on what exactly you want doing and type of house you have. our last house was new build and would have been a simple conversion with 2 veluxes being a general multi purpose room quote by same bloke was £13k year b4 last.

now we moved we got older semi house and need 2 dormers to make most of space for bedroom and ensuite bthrm. jence cost now. we only moved last april and plan ot saty ghere for long itme and there'll be 6 of us living here soon ! (my parents live with us to make life easier for them in theory)!

Our loft conversion started exactly a year ago, and we had the carpets fitted February half-term, so yes it is a very quick job.

We have an 18' x 18' room, with two velux windows in the front and a large dormer in the back. We had a bathroom installed as well.

Our boys have the new room; I don't think I could stand having to climb an extra set of stairs multiple times a day. We only every hear the very occasional thud.
