Mine, (DS-3) LOVES 'Paranoid Android' by Radiohead. We have to play it every morning in the car.

suzywong Mon 10-Jan-05 13:17:11

Cheery

My ds1 can sing "If You Really Love Me" by Stevie Wonder and "By the Way" by RHCP all the way through and often does. Although it goes "Daddy the girl is singing songs to me about a monkey"

All the Young Dudes - Mott the Hoople version.
Also now becoming keen on 'That's Entertainment' - the Jam.
Am very keen on an all round musical education, as long as there's no metal involved. DH has other ideas and I occasionally come across AC/DC in the car {sticks nose up in the air in disgust icon}

suzywong Mon 10-Jan-05 13:19:46

LOL
Does your ds do the "thinkin bout your holiday" line with the same gusto as Weller?

Poshpaws Mon 10-Jan-05 13:20:01

I know what you mean, SW. Hope his mental health does not suffer, but he seems to really love this tune, much more than any other we play in the car

KateandtheGirls Mon 10-Jan-05 13:20:08

"Hot hot hot" from the Bend it like Beckham soundtrack.

bakedpotato Mon 10-Jan-05 13:21:38

it's raining again by supertramp

before she could speak she used to hum along to Royksopp

Tetley Mon 10-Jan-05 13:21:43

'Laura' by Scissor Sisters. I have to have the CD in the car all of the time so that he can sing along! (He's 4, by the way). He's even got his little brother into it too!

Marina Mon 10-Jan-05 13:24:35

Ds has always loved "We will rock you" by Queen (insert retching emoticon).
Was all set to share my love of Scissor Sisters until I listened more closely to the lyrics
LOL re THINKING ABOUT YOUR HOLIDAYS, ah that takes me back

Marina Mon 10-Jan-05 13:26:59

Tetley, what about the rest of the album though...I think they are such a great band, just worried about ds trilling Tits on the Radio or Filthy/Gorgeous in the playground...

nailpolish Mon 10-Jan-05 13:27:52

my ddloves that 'Call on Meeeee' song LOL

Tetley Mon 10-Jan-05 13:29:42

So far he hasn't picked up on any dodgy lyrics - but perhaps I ought to censor things a bit more

suzywong Mon 10-Jan-05 13:30:46

ds1 also loves 'Aeroplane" RHCP and it does say MF twice, suppose I had better be responsible and take it out of circulation

serenity Mon 10-Jan-05 13:30:49

DSs love The Darkness (AKA Guitaroo Man - means nothing unless you have the game!), and had a big thing last summer for the Ozone 'Mai a hee' song. DS2 will sing along to almost everything on the radio - we listen to XFM or Virgin, so thankfully no Busted, McFly or suchlike

nailpolish Mon 10-Jan-05 13:31:25

busted and mcfly are ace

DillyDally Mon 10-Jan-05 13:31:47

Another DD who loves call on me and dances to it (not in the way the "ladies" in the video dance though)

katzguk Mon 10-Jan-05 13:33:05

we've got pop party the CD i the car and DD sings along to lots of those songs. She loves britney spears hit me baby, not sure thats toatlly appropriate for a 2 year old to be singing!

CountessDracula Mon 10-Jan-05 13:33:31

DD, 2 and 4 months, loves The Thin Ice from The Wall - we really do LOL at her singing "dragging behind you the silent reproach of a million tear-stained eyes"

hunny Mon 10-Jan-05 13:38:18

DD loves anything by RHCP. She also loves The Road to Mandalay by Robbie Williams although I have no idea where she's heard that one... {hastily stuffs Robbie's Greatest Hits CD down the back of the sofa}

serenity Mon 10-Jan-05 13:42:19

busted and mcfly make me feel like a grumpy old woman. I did the spotty teenage boy thing in the 80's, I've given myself permission to moan about them now

Me and DH love watching TOTP and grumping about 'modern music'.

nailpolish Mon 10-Jan-05 13:45:07

i like busted and mcfly basically cos they are a true 'band' play their own instruments and write some of their music themselves

so there

Busted are prettier than McFly

Mum2girls Mon 10-Jan-05 13:47:21

Same as you KATG - my two love 'Hot hot hot' and adapt the lyrics to suit almost everything.
