DS aged 5 has just been to the most amazing party. The Mum had arranged for us to meet at the local McDs and when we were there a fire engine pitched up and took the kids for a half hour ride. They got to dress up in a uniform and got to keep the helmet as a gift. Ds was so happy, I think I may do the same for his party as he can't stand party games or loud discos etc. It was fab!

Sounds brilliant!! My brother is a policeman and I've wondered if it'd be allowed to get him to a party with his car so they could all have a go of the siren etc? PRobably not though!

Sounds excellent. Our local fire station does free visits for groups of children.

Sounds wonderful!! (I have a fireman fetish!!)

I'm trying to think of something fab to do for my DD's 6th birthday in Feb that won't cost the earth. It's hard to think of something different isn't it.

She had booked it through a company that hires out the engine for kids parties and also hen parties, so I guess a lot of people share your fireman fetish!

He was a 'fake' fire man but had the uniform and hey girls isn't that enough?

TBH I get enough of a uniform buzz cos dh is in the RAF, but I undertand the attraction

Actually the guy was realy great with the kids, who all had a good time. I think that they must save the 'hunky' types for the hen parties!¬

I've got one hired for my friends hen night next year. It comes fully equipped with bells, whistles, karaoke, champagne and scrummy semi naked firemen.

happy merryberries, that's 5 year old heaven - Mcdonalds and fire engines all in one go what a clever idea of the hosts.

I have looked into the prices, they are a bit steep, but comperable to taking a class of kids to playzone if you do the food at home. You can book the rig for 1.5 hours for £140. For that all the kids get to sit in the drivers seat, dressed in all the kit and they all get a half hour ride in the fire engine. I'm mulling it over as ds can't cope with party games
