call your HV? or midwife?

newlifenewname Fri 21-Sep-07 13:58:58

Gawd, was 4 years ago and in a different part of UK...

Mine was on hte birth report that I got at teh time. I think that is the only place that you will find it without requesting a copy of your maternity notes.

You can ask to see your medical notes but I think there is a small fee - about £10 - £15 for them to get them out! Try your midwife or hospital where you had DC - Good luck

Look in their red book?
I wouuldn't know my DCs' unless i looked them up either

burstingbug Fri 21-Sep-07 13:59:27

Is it not written in their red books?

newlifenewname Fri 21-Sep-07 13:59:31

Would my GP have a note of it on current medical notes?

biglips Fri 21-Sep-07 13:59:49

SLightly - how come you got a birth report??

newlifenewname Fri 21-Sep-07 13:59:58

Don't have red books because my filing cabinet was stolen in France

biglips Fri 21-Sep-07 14:00:26

mine wasnt written in the red book

newlifenewname Fri 21-Sep-07 14:00:44

And was a homebirth.
Sorry, appreciate suggestions

SlightlyMadSweden Fri 21-Sep-07 14:01:10

I got a envelope of stuff....most of it was to give to MW at home vists but I was told I could keep 1 page.

Just lists things like times of each stage, MW delivering, tearing, weight, apgar etc.

NAB3 Fri 21-Sep-07 14:01:31

Is it not in your birth notes?

KTeePee Fri 21-Sep-07 14:02:25

I think your medical notes is the best bet in that case....

biglips Fri 21-Sep-07 14:02:37

oh right. Nice to have isnt it? smile

best to contact the hospital or midwife and go from there

newlifenewname Fri 21-Sep-07 14:02:41

It may be but I don't have them Nab.

This is going to be impossible, I can tell. I guess best bet might be to phone GP surgery??

burstingbug Fri 21-Sep-07 14:02:58

Did you have a birthing partner? Can they remember? Or would a family member have written it down or remember it if you had told them shortly after the birth?

biglips Fri 21-Sep-07 14:03:44

i dont think the Gp will have as they dont get involved in this stuff.......Ring him/her and see what can u find out

SlightlyMadSweden Fri 21-Sep-07 14:03:53

Mine is in with DDs box of bits.

I have to say I didn't get one with DTDs 6yrs ago, but I wasn't given any notes to take away for visiting MW as I had my postnatal checks at hosp rather than at home.

SlightlyMadSweden Fri 21-Sep-07 14:04:36

I would request a copy of your maternity notes. It will definately be in there.

newlifenewname Fri 21-Sep-07 15:27:55

Got it!

Was 2.25 am on 22nd September 2003 grin

Thanks all.

burstingbug Fri 21-Sep-07 15:28:47

Cool grin Where did you find it?

newlifenewname Fri 21-Sep-07 15:36:07

Phoned GP who put me on to nurse who suggested ringing hospital the homebirth midwife came from.

So, rang Furness General in Cumbria and they had the info within the hour. Fab!
