DH is telling me I'm absolutely mad but I've started to make my 'what I'm buying people' lists - hopefully so I can spread the cost a little - so please reassure me that I haven't totally lost it and I'm not the only one

About to order the turkey tomorrow. blush

Bought 18 bottles of wine, in JS's wine sale. They will go into the garage.

Do your children like going to "see" Santa. My two boys are really scared of going in the grotto. Is that normal? They are 2 and 3.

pmsl. No bloody way!

UCM Mon 03-Sep-07 19:59:46

Yes, definitely, DS already has a small cache of stocking fillers. The only thing I have to remember is a) where I hide them b) I don't duplicate.

And they were bought this week btw.

Oooooooooooo Christmas cake thread, it needs doing <<scuttles off>>

I am seriously putting my fingersw in my ears and shouting "lalalalalalalalalalalalala".

It's SEPTEMBER! AAaaaaaaerrrrrrggghhh.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ Mon 03-Sep-07 20:00:47

Oh yes and bought two gifts this week.

luckylady74 Mon 03-Sep-07 20:06:05

anyone got any good ideas for £5 presents for adults - we made that our limit last year, but i don't think anyone was bowled over by their candles or diaries!

UCM Mon 03-Sep-07 20:09:02

Lidls were doing 4 inch remote control speedboats this week. Always good for a bloke in the bath who has everything I say.

UCM Mon 03-Sep-07 20:09:18

they are 3.99

francagoestohollywood Mon 03-Sep-07 20:14:02

lalalalalalalalalalalalalalala!
I usually do the shopping two weeks before christmas [disorganised emoticon]

mumclaire Mon 03-Sep-07 20:26:49

Brill - I feel loved
and apologies to those who are offended by this thread grin
Back to those lists - I like the £5 idea but I always feel bad when people buy us more expensive stuff - how do you get round this....

LadyVictoriaOfCake Mon 03-Sep-07 20:50:28

have a cupboard full of extyra back up £5 gifts? just make sure you know whats in them lol.

luckylady74 Mon 03-Sep-07 21:56:56

UCM i'm going to Lidls - that sounds fab!

luckylady74 Mon 03-Sep-07 22:00:31

mumclaire - it was a mutual agreement with our extended family, but they got all creative - or in the case of bil illegal by copying cds! i plan to make fudge and so on, but then never do.

UCM Mon 03-Sep-07 23:03:51

Luckylady, you have to be quick. Link here to the latest special offers. They seem to do something and don't do it again for another year.

onlyjoking Mon 03-Sep-07 23:09:12

Nooooo, tell me it's not christmas anytime soon.
it's on the same date every year but it still catches me out.

handlemecarefully Mon 03-Sep-07 23:10:39

fingers in ears...not listening, not listening ....argghhhhh!

expatinscotland Mon 03-Sep-07 23:18:01

Am nearly there! Just DD2 and DH - I know what I'm getting him, just need to pick it up.

AbbyLou Tue 04-Sep-07 09:36:16

Ds birthday is 19th December so this I was determined to do it a little earlier to try and spread the cost. I have bought one thing for dd although she's a bit tricky as it will be her 1st Christmas at 7 months old. I've bought ds birthday presents bar a few little bits and bobs and I think most of his Christmas stuff is done too. I have only got a fw stocking fillers so far but add to them whenever I can.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ Tue 04-Sep-07 19:22:49

I ordered my turkey today. grin
