Dental help - implant vs Bridge

Hi,

I am missing a tooth towards the back as it just didn't come through (my mum has the same issue) - you cannot really are it when I smile so not a massive issue.

My periodontist has recently referred me to get a bridge but I've only really heard of people having implants....

Can I hear you stories of both? I've obviously researched them but unclear if I should go for the bridge?
