Hello everyone. So I've been in Temp accommodation for the past 1 year and 5 months. I was made homeless with my now 20 month old daughter. I was placed in a studio flat, very small and kitchen open near our sleeping area. I was very happy to be honest to have a place to call home. However past forward couple of months, my daughter became very sick, she would get cold/flu all the time. Finally they diagnosed her with adenoids and glue in her ear. ( she was also born deaf in one ear) she would have breathing problems, diffuclty sleeping, it was a struggle. Also what her countion worst was the open kitchen. Cooking would effect her, sometimes I'd have to take her outside to get fresh air. The place is so small for her. I told the housing and they agreed to move me and this was back in Feb 2019. I'm still waiting. I received a letter saying that my daughter will have an operation on the 6th of August to remove the adenoids and glue. I really dont want to bring her back to this studio once shes better. I really dont know what to do.

see your doctor and ask for a letter stating that a better living environment is needed to help your child with her breathing...when you say she had "breathing problems" what do you mean?

Has she had asthma attacks?

No not asthma, the adenoids have caused a blockage to her nose, causing her to have runny nose all day long, therefore due to her blocked nose, she can not breathe normally, especially at night, sometimes she would stop breathing for couple of seconds. We went to a sleep study and they told me shes not getting enough carbon dioxide.

Get the doctor to write you a letter that living in a smaller studio is affecting her health and a better living space is urgent. The council should be able to help.
