does absolutely everyone on this planet suit them except me?
I'm small and fat with big boobies and big legs unfortunately.
i brought one of these dress-top type things home a couple of months back and (although both little daughters thought mummy was suddenly being very fashionable)my son (7)told me i looked "ridiculous Mummy".!!!
Hubbie thought the same. He said I look nice in pretty v neck t shirts and skirts.
do i go along with the fashion and buy these things or what?
there's nothing else in the shops(or should I say "Evans"?)I know they're trying to stay fashionable but there are some of us who just don't look right in the sort of clothes only size 8 to 14 do look nice in.

I completely agree with you!

SlightlyMadSpider Thu 26-Jul-07 23:16:11

Actually I am short have fat legs and a big bum and for once I think the fashion suits me. I don't wear the leggings or tight jeans though - just teh tops and I don't go for the really baggy ones. I was worried they would make my arse look extra big but I think it is actually OK

They look nice on 5 year old girls, and are very practical for little girls who won't wear trousers, but I don't like them on anyone old enough to be pregnant, it makes you look pregnant.

SlightlyMadSpider Thu 26-Jul-07 23:16:31

(or maybe I am deluding myself?)

paulaplumpbottom Thu 26-Jul-07 23:17:07

They look horrible on everyone over the age of 16

Jenkeywerewolf Thu 26-Jul-07 23:17:42

Agree - love them as they are super comfy but last time I wore one I was asked how the pregnancy is going. when I said I wasn't pregnant the woman from toddler group said 'no, you are, I remember you telling me!' grrr. not great for fat ladies imo, also can't seem to fit boobs in the boobs bit.

LadyOfTheFlowers Thu 26-Jul-07 23:19:08

dont buy them becuase they are fashionable!
that would make you a 'fashion victim'!
buy them if you like them.
go 50's. all ladies look lovely in 50's.

LadyOfTheFlowers Thu 26-Jul-07 23:19:32

they look like maternity tops anyhoo!

SlightlyMadSpider Thu 26-Jul-07 23:20:40

I can't remember the last time that I brought something from this years fashion. I like them. I am stocking up for hte next 4 years

<SMS admits to being totally deluded>

LadyOfTheFlowers Thu 26-Jul-07 23:22:04

wait till next week sms then you will be able to get them in the sale at ten a penny when they make room for next weeks 'fashion'!

cutekids Thu 26-Jul-07 23:24:03

thank god it's not just me then!

paulaplumpbottom Thu 26-Jul-07 23:24:42

The Lady is right they'll be everywhere in the sales. Please avoid the ones that try to look like Pucci prints, they are all awful.

LadyOfTheFlowers Thu 26-Jul-07 23:25:14

hey paula!
'the lady' - like it.....

SlightlyMadSpider Thu 26-Jul-07 23:25:51

I like the plain colours or the Black and white type prints only.

Have ignored the garish yello black and white/ purple yellow and green type combos

even

cutekids Thu 26-Jul-07 23:29:10

I've never been a fashion-victim cos even when I did have a waist, i always had big boobs and big legs. Trouble is, "Evans" (picking on them cos they're the only shop i've been able to rely on for the past 6/7 years!) were accused of not being "with it" on a morning programme once. Now they seem to think that everyone - from size 0 upwards!- suits the same things. We don't! We need a style of our own ... that suits and flatters us...! (PLEASE!)

unknownrebelbang Thu 26-Jul-07 23:29:18

Gah, this fashion does naff all for my shape.

boo hiss.

Tortington Thu 26-Jul-07 23:30:34

its common - for people who can only afford new look

onlygirlinthehouse Thu 26-Jul-07 23:31:55

I think they are great, I havnt left the house for 5 years while this "crop top hipster jeans" things been going on!! Its the first time Ive been able to buy something from a fashion shop for a looooong time

A tip though, if you have stupidly large boobs like what I have, is to only buy the tops that pull in under the bust, otherwise the fabric falls straight down from your widest point (your tits!!) and makes you look like Hattie Jakes from the Carry On films

cutekids Thu 26-Jul-07 23:32:08

say that again custardo! what's common?

KerryMumbledore Thu 26-Jul-07 23:32:56

I wore my first top like that this week and I could see everyone's eyebrows going up wondering if I were pregnant!

KerryMumbledore Thu 26-Jul-07 23:33:26

Oh, with jeans.

LadyOfTheFlowers Thu 26-Jul-07 23:33:56
