Is anyone else a fan of this series? I have never seen anything so funny in my life! I generally steer clear of sit-coms, but this is something else!

My dh and I were getting intimate, and for some reason, I just started singing "Come and get your black bin bags! Long and black and slender!" Well he was not impressed much! Anyone else been affected this much by it?

We're big Peter Kay fans in our house. We religiously watched the 1st series and also his series of one-off stories. The man's a genius! Best moments this week: the 2 ex-bouncers singing the theme from Minder whilst taking the Asian elders to the mosque; Ray Vonn in the booth for the kid's ride at the fair saying "Shabba" over the mic!! Sooo funny...
Thanks Rhubarb - this has cheered me up - I was just about to pour my heart out on another thread as I'm feeling p**d off!

The Express has just printed a full version of the 'bin bag' song, to the theme of Men in Black it goes...
"Come and get yer black bin bags
Here until December
Come and get yer black bin bags
They're long and black and slender
Heavy Duty Black Bin Bags
Whether you're straight or bi or bender"

I just can't stop singing it, already dd has asked me to sing her the bin bag song! How sad am I????

Oh Rhubarb - thats cheered me up too! Huge Peter Kay fans in this house - was so excited to see new Phoenix Nights on. That bin bag song in Asda and the fairground bit were just classics. Enough to rival The Office........

My life just revolves around Thursday nights now! Peter Kay is touring at the minute and is in Preston this month doing stand up, but the tickets were sold out within a week of being on sale, sob!

Can't believe I missed it last Thursday. And then missed the repeat on Friday. Grrrrr
My sister saw him live a while ago and said it was the funniest thing she ever saw. I think it's easier to "get" him if you're Northern.

I wonder how I managed to do that? I've never done that before! Maybe Peter Kay is haunting my machine!!!

Absolutely brilliant! One quote sticks in my head "Have you swept that cock up yet?!" The indelible face paints - the scaffolding for a climbing frame, all inside a portaloo! I nearly wet myself last night!

I guess it is classical Northern humour, that's why I love it so much!

Best bit for me was right at the end - upended woman juggling balls from nether regions......."she only had four to begin with........"

I'll really miss this series - it's been so funny, had me rolling on Thursday - Stars in your eyes was a classic.

Hey, I "get" him completely and I live in the south - although I did live in Bolton for a while (does this mean I'm a honoury Northerner - plus dh is from Yorkshire?).

I'll never be able to listen to Emminem 'slim shady, please stand up' in the same way again - without thoughts of the chainsaw wielding rapping pensioner, my sides were aching with laughter. Looking forward to The Office returning on BBC2 in a few weeks time, I hope Tim & Dawn get it on this time.

Anyone watching the Peter Kay reruns on C4 on Mon evenings? Not Phoenix Nights, but 'That Peter Kay Thing'? Laughed so hard I was crying last night - the one about the Apollo Bingo Hall, and the fire and safety officer who interferes with dogs...........
If you're a Phoenix Nights lover, its a must

is that the bingo thing? I saw a bit of it and it looked hilarious...much funnier than the Office (which I hadn't seen before & was disappointed with)
