open university or NVQ at a college?

open uni is expensive although i havent seen if i might qualify for any grants, loans, etc. (i want to avoid the whole loan route is possible though.)

do you have a local college that offers this course

i'm not sure, but i suppose looking locally is a good place to start! (i'm in maidstone so there's bound to be something...)

thanks i'm going to send away for some information and see what they come back with... i've just been doing some long thinking about what i may want to do for a career..and social work seems to be the path i want to go down, not for the money (not that it pays that well!), but for being able to help others.
