Aromatherapy - Safe with DS (14 months) in room?

I am not sure how safe using oils etc. is around babies, I am sure I have heard somewhere you have to be careful with them as they can be powerful. I was going to try some lavendar or sandlewood either in an oil burner or as a room fragrance to help me sleep etc. but DS is in the same room - is it safe? (does that make any sense?? - early morning )
Thanks

I have only used it mixed by an aromatherapist and rubbed it on their bellies to aid sleeping for them (ot me). I think lavender and citrus is pretty safe for babies but why don't you see if an aromatherapist answers?

Hi

I am a qualified aromatherapist, both of the oils mentioned and absolutely fine for babies, make sure that the concentration is correct.

Also citrus oils are very good for babies.

If you want any more information please let me know.

this is a list of potential oils I may use (found my list!)
orange
orange blossom (neroli)
petitgrain
lavendar
bergamot (citrus not herb)
lemon verbena
jasmin
sandalwood (as a sedative!)
ylang ylang
clary sage
melissa (which I think is another name for one of the others)
basil
rose geranium

try and help stress/depression/anxiety/insomnia etc. etc.
I presume they are all ok to burn/spray etc. in the bedroom/house?

Thanks so much x

Be very careful with clary sage - it is a narcotic. Use a very weak solution of it around your DS, unless you want to knock him out!

Will post more info later.
