We've had the testicles thread - I'm concerned about what to call my daughters fanjon (if it is a girl).

Vagina - too clincal.
Every thing else: Too crude.

It used to be a 'hing' when I was a girl but I don't like that.

We have front bottoms in our house (well, myself and the DDs do, DH doesn't, obviously ...)

You don't see the vagina

the part you see is the vulva

we use vulva

front bum, coz thats what me and everyone i know called it growing up so stick with what you know!

Still haven't decided this ourselves. I get the impression that nooney is considered acceptable in the SE, fanny is too adult/rude, and vulva far too adult. Vagina OTH is just wrong!

Why not use fanjo? If all MNers start using it at the same time, it may become as acceptable as willy!

But it IS a vulva

if you call it a foofoo no-one will know wtf your dd is on about

and you will give the message that part is embarrassing and has to have a special cute name because the real name is too awful

Franny/Badger - saw an article in the Guardian (of all places) today firmly asserting that Judy Chicago's 'Dinner Party' was a representation of vaginas. Aaargh. Why can perfectly well-educated people not make the distinction?

front bum/ front of my bum.... accurate and easy to understand with no need for ponciness!

Report
FrannyandZooey · 11/05/2007 13:24

Since when did the correct word for a part of the body become poncy?

Do you call your leg your "walky-woo"?

Report
nailpolish · 11/05/2007 13:24

i do however tell my dds that i have "tits"

i just hate hate hate the word 'boobs'

squidette · 11/05/2007 13:24

vulva is too clinical yet nail or eye isnt?

Children will devise their own names for things, so at least i can give the correct name and then leave them to decide.

and my sister calls it a chicken and this is catching on in our house cos it does looka bitlike a chicken
