Chances of rehousing? Could do with some advice!

So I live in a 3 bed tiny housing association house with my husband and 5 children. 4 girls aged 11, 10, 5 and 7 and then a boy whose a toddler aged 19months. I would like some advice ( please no judgement on why I have so many kids as that's not practical or going to be helpful to me). What are the chances of being rehoused whilst on the council list. I only applied in November .. one in the area I live now and the other is a different council in a different borough where I have a local connection because my mum lives there and my gran and I want to be closer to them for support with the kids and for the kids to see more of my mum. On the council in the area I live now I was awarded band 3 and the area near my mums I was awarded medium band. What are the chances of being offered a house if I bid every week. We need a 4 bed but we can also live in a 3 bed with an extra dining room that can be turned into a bedroom ( I prefer this idea because it's easier than looking for a 4 bed)

My husband works full time and we could have been upgraded to a band 2 as a 'working. Household' award but we had £160 arrears so we were not awarded it at the time but I've since paid it off and I was told to write to them to get it upgraded but not a guarantee.

So what are my chances.

We can't go private because we couldn't afford it and would not be able to raise deposit money or rent upfront money and I feel with 5 kids there is no security in it and we've lived in private before and had the rent increased by £100 a month for no valid reason and I have anxiety and couldn't live with uncertainty like that. Also we are not in a position to buy at the moment. I'm looking for work so we can look into Saving for a deposit and you don't get help for deposits for private rent when your working

So what are my chances? Has anyone ever been offered a house on band 3 and medium bands?
I've lived in my current property for 7 years.

Council housing is always difficult to get. Although you are likely classed as over crowded you are not homeless or threatened with homelessness.

It depends on where you live and the houses that are available in your area.

The chances of getting a four bed are tiny, going for a 3 bed is probably more realistic.

It entirely depends on where you live, houses available, and whether or not anyone with greater priority also bids on the house you want.

I got the first house I bid on (3 bedroom), in the first week I was accepted onto the list because I live in an area with low demand. I think I was C band for priority.

Moot as you can't afford it, but private rental costs can be fixed with long contracts.

As you say council and borough I assume London. Its a bit full there. Sorry, as the oldest four are all girls they can all share and so can the boy until he is ten. Says shelter.

Thanks for all your replies.

When I bid for a property I'm coming up as 201-205 out of 294 what does mean? Does it mean I absolutely no chance then? And does this number change the longer you bid and the more you bid?
