Ds has both, so no preference. Tbh, grandad is more common around here in Manchester

We had Grandpa for one and Grandad for the other.

In card shops it's always more difficult to find 'Grandpa' cards.

YY, grandpa items in short supply.

We have Grandpa. Started off as Pampa until DS could say it.

Interesting about lack of Grandpa cards as that is one of the things i check to see what is popular! I couldn't find any Grandpa cards at all!

err. Just to check. Are you going to come up with things saying
'Grandad's Little Soldier' in blue/brown/khaki
and
'Grandpa's Little Princess' in glittery pink ?
If so, please don't, and consider nice gender neutral clothing in a variety of colours instead.

Just wondering why a children's clothes designer needs to know this!

Yup, one of each here. But never buy items (most especially clothing) with either name on (Grandad might quite like it, I guarantee Grandpa would hate it!)

We have papa and grandpa. Also really struggle with cards! (Have the same issue with granny)

TeenTimesTwo - We offer a lot of gender neutral clothing, but unfortunately there is also a demand for the baby blue and baby pink T-shirts with sickly slogans. I simply want to know people's preference on Grandad or Grandpa

Oh OK then. We have a Grandpa. Smile If FIL were still alive he would have been Grandad though. Card retailers obviously think there are more Grandads.

From the 2, grandad. But we say granda.

I grew up with Granda on both sides. DH grew up with Grandad so our DC have one of each.

I much prefer Granda (it seems less formal to me) but I know it is less common outside of Ireland.

We have Granda unsure if it’s a north of the border thing but Grandad always sounded very formal
