The Max Edwards Internship - apply now for 2 weeks' paid work experience in Ed Miliband's office

I was lucky enough to know Max Edwards - he was my Godson and a truly lovely boy. He was diagnosed with spinal cord cancer at age 16 - which he wrote about very movingly in the Guardian. Prior to being diagnosed he started a blog called the Anonymous Revolutionary which reflected his passion for Marxist politics - for his 16th birthday he asked me for the Complete Works of Lenin - and he continued writing his blog until his death in March 2016. Before Max died he met Ed Miliband, who was very taken with him, as were most who met him, and who's set up a two-week paid internship in his memory. It's a fantastic opportunity for a young person who's interested in politics and the power of politics to help people, to get exposure to a field they might not otherwise be able to access. I've just read about the internship and some of Max's blog and all I can say is what a wonderful opportunity and more importantly, what a wonderful boy.
I have a politics mad ds who also blogs about politics. He also adores Jeremy Corbyn and follows him around like other kids follow pop groups. He's too young for the internship but I will definitely mention it to him as something to aspire to when he's a few years older.

The article he wrote for the Guardian is absolutely incredible. He describes his life as being a 'moderate success' but I respectfully disagree with him on that.

Such a sad loss.....as a fellow Marxist, I would have loved to see Max develop. Great opportunity for someone...my DD would definitely be up for it in a few years. Hope whoever gets it takes Ed to task for not even being a radical as his father!

I have just drawn my son's attention to this. It sounds like a great opportunity. Like Max, my son is also a Marxist (it runs in the family!). Such a talented and clever young man, it really is such a shame that he will not get to develop his ideas and get to make more lasting contributions to Marxist theory and politics.
